Christmas at the Historical Park
December 3, 2016
Christmas at the Richfield Historical Park was an open house, free to the community and held each December in conjunction with Christmas in Richfield. Young and old from all over the area came to the Richfield Historical Park to experience an old-fashioned Christmas. Like all the events at RHS, it takes a team of many to put this together. For the first time, the Lillicrapp Welcome Center was open for this event. Thanks to our volunteers, here are some of the memories from this year’s Christmas at the Park:
Volunteers were ready to greet their guests after spending several hours putting up vintage decorations in the Mill House and Lillicrapp Welcome Center.
The outside of the Welcome Center and Mill House were festively decorated.
The sweet sounds of Christmas music came from the upright piano with a sing-along of carols.
The General Store in the Welcome Center was decked out in vintage finery, toys and candy from long ago.
Finding the Pickle Ornament is an old German custom that this little girl just experienced. Find the pickle hanging on the tree, and you get a prize.
Delicious homemade goodies filled the kitchen table. The sweet smell of the woodburning stove greeted the visitors as they entered the Mill House.
The new footbridge made it easy to get from the Welcome Center to the Mill House.
A wagon ride around the Park was enjoyed on a pleasant early-December day.
