18th Annual Thresheree

Saturday and Sunday dawned as beautiful fall days in Wisconsin -- perfect weather to get outdoors and enjoy the signts and sounds of days long ago. That is just what many people did as they arrived at the Richfield Historical Park for the 18th Annual Thresheree. The tents were all pitched and filled with items to see and buy, exhibitors had set up their displays, pancakes browned, sausages sizzled, steam was building up in the steam engines, pies were ready to be judged, and the restored historic buildings were set up for tours. The 18th Annual Thresheree sponsored by the Richfield Historical Society was underway. Two signature demonstrations are favorites: steam driven threshing and horses plowing. The parade is always enjoyed by visitors.

Outside the Messer/Mayer Mill was a wonderful display providing excellent information on the immigrants coming to the Richfield area. The Lillicrapp Welcome Center's general store display had a festive Christmas theme. Photography depicting Richfield and the surrounding area was displayed in the Welcome Center. The Silent Auction offered many wonderful items on which to bid; the Sweets 'n Stuff tent had some great bargains and tasty homemade goodies. Kids had fun stuffing shirts and pants with straw to make scarecrows. Exhibitors, demonstrators and musicians provided learning experiences and enjoyable entertainment.

Thank You to all of the volunteers and attendees who made this event happen.  Another Big Thank You to our Sponsors, Goods & Services Contributors and Silent Auction Donors. One more Thank You goes to all businesses that purchased ads for the Event Program. Without the attendees, sponsors, donors and volunteers, the Thresheree would not happen.
