19th Annual Thresheree
September 16 & 17, 2017

Saturday dawned as a beautiful fall day in Wisconsin and Sunday turned out to be just as nice -- perfect weather to get outdoors and enjoy the signts and sounds of days long ago. That is just what many people did as they arrived at the Richfield Historical Park for the 19th Annual Thresheree. The tents were all pitched and filled with items to see and buy, exhibitors had set up their displays, pancakes browned, sausages sizzled, steam was building up in the steam engines, pies were ready to be judged, and the restored historic buildings were set up for tours. The 19th Annual Thresheree sponsored by the Richfield Historical Society was underway. Two signature demonstrations are favorites: steam driven threshing and horses plowing. The parade is always enjoyed by visitors.

The Lillicrapp Welcome Center's farming photo display was a nice addition to the general store. The Mill House provided an exciting Scavenger Hunt to find items related to the house with the participants being rewarded with old-fashioned candy. The Messer/Mayer Mill had an outside informational display as the inside of the Mill was closed due to the restoration of the foundation. The newly built Blacksmith Shop had working blacksmiths and was dedicated. The Silent Auction offered many wonderful items on which to bid. New this year was a Live Auction. The Sweets 'n Stuff tent had some great bargains and tasty homemade goodies. Kids had fun stuffing shirts and pants with straw to make scarecrows. Exhibitors, demonstrators and musicians provided learning experiences and enjoyable entertainment.

Thank You to all of the volunteers and attendees who made this event happen.  Another Big Thank You to our Sponsors, Goods & Services Contributors and Silent Auction & Sweets 'n Stuff donors. One more Thank You goes to all businesses that purchased ads for the Event Program. Without the attendees, sponsors, donors and volunteers, the Thresheree would not happen.
