Blacksmith Day/Hammer In
October 1, 2022

On a delightful fall day, many visitors enjoyed the Richfield Historical Society's first Blacksmith Day/Hammer In held at the Richfield Historical/Nature Park. This event was held to relive the skills of blacksmiths long ago as they were an important element of any crossroads community.

The visitors enjoyed seeing blacksmiths demonstrating their talents as they hammered glowing metal and shaped it into a useful tool.

Stations were set up to work with metal: hammering and detailing a fish, a flower and a peg. This activity was very popular.
