RHS Volunteers in Action

On June 9, 2015, 16 ambitious Richfield Historical Society volunteers RHS Volunteers Preparing a Mailinggathered at the home of one of the RHS members to assemble a mass mailing. The purpose of the mailing was to make Village of Richfield property owners aware of the Messer/Mayer Mill and what a great asset it is to the community. In addition, an appeal was made to donate funds to Get the Mill Grinding. About $300,000 is still needed to restore the foundation of the Mill and repair the original equipment that is inside. Richfield's Hidden Gem, the Messer/Mayer Mill located in the Richfield Historical Park, is uniqueRHS Volunteers Preparing a Mailing because of its original equipment. Currently, it is interesting to tour during one of the RHS events, and will be even more of an attraction once the equipment starts to grind grain.

The mailing was sent to over 4,300 recipients. It consisted of a letter, donor card, recognition brick brochure, and an attractive magnet listing the RHS summer/fall events and programs. Assembly took a little over 5 hours. Of course, this included a delicious RHS Volunteers Preparing a Mailinglunch prepared by the hosting couple. The group had a great time enjoying conversation, jokes, and getting to know everyone better.

You, too, could join in this comaraderie by volunteering for RHS activities. Just give Sharon a call at 262-297-1546. A donation can be made by clicking Here.

A big Thank You to these volunteers and to Graphic Edge for their excellent service and support in printing the materials.
