Plein Air Artists Paint at the Park

Plein air painting takes place when an artist sets up an easel outside and puts on canvas the view that he/she sees. The artists that painted at the Richfield Historical Park on March 28 are members of WIPAPA (Wisconsin Plein Air Painters Association).

Painters were located by the Mill House, the Messer/Mayer Mill, and by the meandering Coney Creek that still had fringes of ice along its shores.Plein air painting at Richfield Historical Park One artist said she comes to the park often to paint – one of her most favorite places. She is also a photography and often takes family pictures in various spots in the Park – one in Plein air painting at Richfield Historical Parkparticular being a family on the porch of the Mill House when it is decorated for Christmas at the Mill House. The chilly temps did not affect the canvas on which she was painting due to the sun keeping it at a good temperature.
