Christmas at Richfield Historical Park
December 7, 2019

Christmas at the Richfield Historical Park was an open house, free to the community and held each December in conjunction with Christmas in Richfield. Young and old from all over the area came to the Richfield Historical Park to experience an old-fashioned Christmas. Like all the events at RHS, it takes a team of many to put this together. Thanks to our volunteers, here are some of the memories from this year’s Christmas at the Park.

The Mill House and Lillicrapp Welcome Center were festively decorated inside and outside by RHS volunteers.

Children enjoyed learning about the old-fashioned General Store in the Welcome Center and finding a pickle on the Christmas tree in the Mill House. Finding a pickle is a German tradition.

The sweet sounds of Christmas music came from the upright piano with a sing-along of carols.

The General Store in the Welcome Center was decked out in vintage finery, toys and candy from long ago plus some wonderful photography of Richfield as it looked years and years ago.

A wagon ride through the Park was enjoyed due to the mild temperature.

Delicious homemade goodies filled the kitchen table. The sweet smell of the woodburning stove greeted the visitors as they entered the Mill House.
