Maple Syrup Family Day
Saturday, March 23, 2024 ~ 9am - 4pm

Inside the Sugar ShackDo you know how maple syrup is made? Did you know it takes 40 gallons of sap to make just one gallon of the delicious syrup? Come to the Richfield Historical Park on March 23, 2024, and see maple trees tapped, sap drip - drip - dripping into the bags fastened to the trees and steam hovering above the boiler while the sap bubbles.

Making Pancakes

Enjoy a pancake breakfast with delicious 'real' maple syrup drizzled over your stack of cakes. A New Location -- Pavilion in Nature Park.

 

Outside Log BuildingsExperience pioneer life by seeing outdoor cooking, watching a 'smith' at work, shelling some corn and more fun activities. Buy maple cotton candy and enjoy its delicious taste.

 

 

New This Year - Maple Syrup Contest

Samples of syrup from maple syrup producers are entered into the contest. The syrup is rated for density, clarity, flavor, color and container/label. At 9am in the granary, 3 celebrity judges will taste the entries and determine the winners. The judges are: John Jeffords, Richfield Board President; Ashley Hagenow, 2024 Alice in Dairyland; Ryan Burk, Spectrum Channel 1 Reporter. Visitors are welcome to watch the judging.
